Okay, so this is an essay I did at school last year and just wanted to post it because I just felt like it.
But anyway, comment on if you agreee on not having a 'Year Round School' policy in your school.
This was when I heard (a couple of months ago) Obama proposing the idea for all the schools in the United States. So here it goes:

This was when I heard (a couple of months ago) Obama proposing the idea for all the schools in the United States. So here it goes:
Don’t you just love summer? I love the hot weather, the water parks, and especially freedom; freedom from math problems, homework, and all of those school regulations. As a student, sometimes I just want to go home and watch TV, or just forget about school. Because every time you do something everyday, you get tired of doing it. You’d miss your friend and you’d miss the fun. There are a few reasons why students need a summer break, namely stress, vacation, a time for having fun and a chance for expanding knowledge through the outside world.
Whenever stress starts to creep in your mind, a whole lot of things will be affected. It will have an effect on one’s studies, resulting in low grades and losing focus. Imagine getting a pile of homework papers as thick as a subject notebook. Wouldn’t that make your head blow up? Stress also affects the student’s health. The student will start to experience headaches, dizziness, and start becoming weak. This will also affect the student’s mood and relationships with others. Students will most likely show disrespect and bad manners. That is because the brain gets confused and jumbled up because of stress.
Besides stress, students like me should be given time to enjoy life. What is life without happiness? We need to relax our mind, have some fun, and have a break. For instance, students would not have time hanging out with friends and family. Good relationships with all the family members wouldn’t be developed because of the lack of vacation. But vacation is generally not just about spending time with your loved ones. It is also about doing summer activities like swimming, summer sports, and visiting relatives around the whole universe. Just like me, I love to visit my relatives from the Philippines and Illinois. All of us of course, would miss the people that we like spending time with.
Students like me always get stuck with the same environment at school. Seeing the same things everyday is as tiring as eating fish for the whole week. We go to school for more than a hundred days a year! Would we be able to mingle with people outside school if we do not have that much time to do it? We could expand our knowledge and moreover, discover new things. If we learn a lot of things in school, then we should act it out too. For example, we could volunteer for community help. Students could gain knowledge of more things or even give help if we are given the opportunity to do so.
All in all, summer vacation is truly crucial in a student’s life. Because of it, students and parents can say goodbye to worries and stress. Not only having fun, students can still learn new and more exciting things. In other words, students do not need a year round school. If you think we need it, I’d have to say, “No way!”
